The thesis is clear and the paper never strays from the topic. It is well organized with transitions and topic sentences for every paragraph. The reader never gets lost in following the path of the essay. I really enjoyed the paragraphs about the Mariner and the Wedding Guest. The comparison is very precise and leads to well articulated conclusions.

\nBut of course you want some suggestions :)
\nFor the introduction I would suggest not diving right into a quote, include Coleridge's first name and maybe say something more to introduce him. I think you could expand on the Kubla Khan part as well. Finally, I think it might be interesting to include support quotes and outside sources for the affects of opium and drugs. You use outside sources when explaining parts of Coleridge's poems but don't really use them when making a claim about drugs.

\nThis was some really good stuff. I loved the quotes you selected from the poem and was impressed by the support you drummed up from Younquist. I also was a fan of some of the language with words like gilded and elided. Definitely a keeper!
